Pond Study

Last week we joined a Meetup led by the Mission Creek Eco Center. It was a gorgeous fall day and so much fun. The girls made friends quickly with other homeschooling kids. Most field trips they stick close to each other so it was awesome to see them branch out. We took a quick walk to the pond and the fun began!

Our pond study began with scooping up different insects from the pond and placing them in bowls.

Liv felt like an invaluable member of her three person team. She was the only one who could wade into the pond with her rubber boots.

Next, they took their bowl of bugs 🐜 to the picnic table and use an identification chard to identify which insect they had collected.

Then, they dumped out their insects and did it again!
